In Harmony Wellness began when Derek Cumings and Tina Valenti Oittinen decided to combine their efforts toward a united vision of helping Colorado legal MMJ patients have safe access to medicine, supportive wellness services, education and more. The two met in November of ‘08; Derek was a caregiver and patient advocate. Tina was caregiving and holding MMJ information meetings throughout Weld and Larimer County.
Derek brought many strengths to In Harmony, not the least of which is an advanced scientific knowledge of cannabis and its properties and a real understanding of cannabis as medicine in its various forms. He was known throughout the MMJ community in the early days of Amendment 20 for crafting superior tinctures, edibles and other cannabis-related products, made to offer patients an effective and affordable alternative to smoking. Derek has long promoted the idea of medical marijuana being able to evolve to a higher standard at a lower cost.
Tina came with an eclectic history in the field of alternative health and healing, as well as in the field of psychology. She has extensive education and experience in the practice of massage, nutrition and counseling. Her vision from the start was to create a center where those suffering from chronic conditions could find relief for their conditions through an integrated approach to wellness, including but not limited to cannabis. Tina felt that medical cannabis would be an excellent platform from which to offer those with debilitating conditions education and support in other areas of alternative medicine.
Together, Tina and Derek shared a passion for marijuana as medicine as well as for helping people, which ultimately translated to the vision that is now In Harmony Wellness.
Today, the standards for In Harmony remain clear – to consistently offer the highest quality medicine at the best prices to Colorado Legal MMJ patients in a safe and professional atmosphere. In Harmony’s continued aim is to remove the stigma from Cannabis, a very safe, very natural, very effective form of medicine. In Harmony will continue to offer supportive wellness services and relevant information that we hope each of our patients will find useful.
Though there are others who do what we do, we are confident that Colorado legal patients will find satisfaction with our policy of integrity, respect, ethics, and professionalism.
