Colorado Amendment 20
In the year 2000, Colorado voters passed Amendment 20, which allows patients with specific debilitating medical conditions to use marijuana with a physician’s recommendation. Since then, Colorado has seen a steady increase in the number of licensed patients as well as cooperatives, caregivers, and dispensaries.
Currently, the number of legal patients in Colorado has risen to close to 15,000. According to the CDPHE, current legal patients are ranked below by number registered and qualifying condition. Patients were counted in each group under which they fell.
